Goals for Go for Gold

“Go for Gold” is our motto this term. A motto is a phrase of a short sentence.   What do you think go for gold means? Well, I think it’s another way of saying “If you work hard you can be the best you can be.”

We were given a task to find out what we're not really good at,  or what we want to improve in.  We have to do it physically not mentally so... I have taken the challenge to learn how to play (drum roll please) Tennis! Yes, I have picked Tennis because I've never played this sport before and I really want to get better at playing it, plus it looks really cool to play.

How I will achieve this goal. Well I will do a test at the start to see if I can hit the ball correctly and see how good I’m playing.  By Practising I will eventfully be perfect.

Term 2 London Olympic

The start of the term 3 is here and as always we have an immersion assembly. This term we are learning about The London Olympics! You may have read some of my other posts and are saying "why are you talking about the London Olympics again."

Well as we know the London Olympics are coming soon, I can’t hardly wait. Before 1896 Women were not allowed to compete in the olympics, they weren’t even allowed to watch the event! In 1900 was the first ever olympics that Women were allowed to compete in. This year's Olympics are really special because this year Women are allowed to compete in every event.

My favourite sport that I’m looking forward to, are: Tennis and Archery. Why did I only say those two, because they're my top two favourite events in the Olympics.  I like Tennis because it is a hard sport and it takes a lot of strength and practice. Also the reason why I like Archery is because of the concentration, the arrow and the bow.

So this term is all about the London Olympics and our motto is "Go for Gold." We were given the task to find something that we want to improve in. My choice  is to learn how to play tennis. Do you have a goal or something you want to achieve?

My christmas suprise

Christmas morning, waking up. One present in particular was from my mum to my dad and I. Feeling the parcel “What is it?” I said to myself! Mum made us guess what we thought it was, we couldn't guess, so I carefully started to open it and...

It was a baby top! “Why did you give us this mum” I froze and looked at her. “you’re going to be a big sister!” Said my Mum in a calm voice. I could feel a big smile coming across my face. “What is it ”I said loudly. But we didn’t know then.

“I was right.” Why did I say I was right? Well, when we went to the baby scan my Mum asked if we could guess if baby was a Boy or a Girl. Only I guessed correctly!
Which name do you prefer Jaxson or Toran? That should tell you what gender the baby is but if you don’t know, it’s a boy!

My Mum is 39 weeks and that is close to giving birth. He is due on July the 7th, the day after my cousins birthday and a month before I turn twelve. I can’t wait for him to come, I hope he doesn't keep us waiting too long. I think I would be a lovely big sister.
He could come any minute. We already decorated his room and it looks fantastic, if I may say so myself. We have packed the bags, and the car seat. We are ready for whenever he decides to come.

London Olympics

The Olympics are coming up and I am so “EXITED! “Did you know that the olympics are held every 4 years?” It’s not always held in the same place...

This year the olympics are being held in London. London... What a great place to have it. With the Big Ben you're sure to know when each event is on!

The sport I’m looking forward to is Equestrian. I am a fan of Equestrian because of the horses. I love animals! Along with all the jumps and tricks, I think those trainers and horses are amazing.

At the london olympics there are three things they have to show what they have trained their horses  , Eventing and Jumping. Each discipline requires different skills from the riders and horses competing.

My favourite place

Sand in between your toes, running to where the water flows.

Splashing, playing, falling down, that's just the start of having fun.

The beach is where I’d like to be whenever I’d like to see the sea.

On the sand we play all day until the end, we play and  play.

This term our topic is “Art Alive”. We were given the task to find our favourite place and take a photo. For what, you all might ask. Well... At the end of the term we are having an art show in our school, to show off all of our Art, how cool is that!

Henri matisse! Have you heard of him? He is an artist which puts  vibrant colours into his art work, that’s why he is my inspiration.  To paint and draw my favourite place!

Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a must read book... If you are looking for a story with adventure and excitement then this is a book for you!




This term every reading group is given a novel. Our group Trumps was given Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. There are 34 or so pages in there to read so that is sure to keep us busy. Oh I forgot to tell you we aren't reading our novels on books, were reading it in a digital format. How cool is that?

Percy Jackson is a twelve year old boy and he’s a troubled kid! His class went on a field trip to an old Greek museum. Did I mention that he has a bad reputation on field trips! Well he does! Once he hit the wrong lever on the catwalk and his class took an unplanned swim,

and before that he had an accident with a war cannon, "I wasn't aiming for the bus" he said.  

Percy Jackson is the main character of course and Grover, his best friend. That is all of the characters that we have heard about so far. We haven’t quite meet the other characters. But I'm sure there just waiting for adventure!

We haven’t read the whole book yet, but so far it is really funny. The reason why I think it’s funny is because in the start he tries to convince you to close the book!
